Star batsman AB De Villers has confirmed that he will not be participating in the opening match of the Indian Premier League. (ABD drops a bomb before RCB’s opening match !)

De Villers has been a doubt for the past few days but the extent of his injury was not known to anyone. While the RCB team expected the worst, ABD will still be a big loss to them since they are already missing their captain Virat Kohli through injury.

Daniel Vettori broke the news and also said that they hope that De Villiers will make a full recovery in time for the match against the Delhi Daredevils.

“AB de Villiers has travelled well. However he still has some minor discomfort and we felt that couple of days off would be best before we have him back in action. We hope to see him on the field in good form by 8th April match against Delhi Daredevils,” Vettori said.

Adding to the list of injuries to the RCB squad, Sarfaraz Khan might miss the entire tournament owing to an injury that he suffered just prior to the season. (ABD drops a bomb before RCB’s opening match !)

“Owing to a leg injury during the final Bangalore based practice match session, Sarfaraz Khan will most likely be unavailable to play as a part of the RCB squad this VIVO IPL and we are evaluating the same with the BCCI. (ABD drops a bomb before RCB’s opening match !)

His absence will be definitely felt on-field and we wish him a speedy recovery,” Vettori said.
