Fans will be excited to see how the likes of McCullum and Sangakara fare in the commentary box. Both Sangakara and McCullum had legendary careers and their legion of fans will be hoping that they are half as good on the mic as they were on the pitch.

Saurav Ganguly will also return after his successful stint last time around. Ganguly was busy with the Cricket Association of  Bengal and will now resume his commentary duties on the microphone.

Graeme Smith and Ricky Ponting are interesting choices as they will be looking to provide some insights as former captains of their respective countries.

The biggest disappointment was the omission of fan favorite Harsha Bhogle from the list. Bhogle landed himself in hot water with the BCCI last year and was excluded from the commentary team of the IPL soon after. He has omitted this year as well which has lead to the outrage of his fans worldwide.

This latest setback beggars the question, have we heard the last of Harsha Bhogle as a play by play color commentator ?
