In cricket, every legendary player has the authority of selecting ‘All time XI’. Shane Warne was the man who made leg spin a force in cricket again. Shane Warne as a legend, has been picking all-time elevens of all kinds for long. This time, keeping up with the flavour of the season, he picked an all-time IPL XI. Check out Shane Warne’s all time IPL XI !
On his Facebook page, Warne was asked, ‘What is your all time playing 11 from the #IPL over the last 10 years? Remember you are only allowed 4 overseas players !!!!!!” Warne wrote, “My team would be…..” and unveiled his choice of players.
Warne picked Dhoni as the captain. For the first time in IPL, Dhoni is not a skipper of any team. And only a few days back Warne had come out in support of former skipper MS. So it came as no surprise that he decided to give the captaincy of his team to the 35-year-old captain cool.
And spin legend picked Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum as the two smashing openers. These two have the record of scoring more than 150 runs in an IPL innings at least once. And all time great all-rounder Jacques Kallis and current Indian captain Kohli. The middle-order comprises of Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma, and the lower middle-order comprise of MSD and Yuvraj Singh.
The bowling department is looking strong. The bowling line-up comprises of Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, yorker king Lasith Malinga and Umesh Yadav. I completely agree with Warne on selection of Umesh Yadav, after watching yesterday’s spell against RCB. Considering the current situation of IPL, selection of Bhajji and Malinga is misleading!

There are some disagreements in Warne’s XI. ABD is widely regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen in the shortest format of the game and Ashwin came into national team due to his performances for Chennai Super Kings. Neither of them made the cut. Moreover, Warne also decided to not include leading run scorer in the history of IPL Raina. Here interestingly Warne did not pick a single Australian in the team !
Former Rajasthan skipper picked an interesting team but fans on Twitter and Facebook were not impressed with some of the picks.
