Chelsea Transfer News: Blues set to complete a move for €60 million rated German striker

Chelsea Transfer News: Blues set to complete a move for German striker Timo Werner, with Chelsea ready to pay €60 million.

Timo Werner since long has been speculated to make a move away from RB Leipzig this summer, with only Liverpool seemed to be in contention for the German striker until now.

However, a recent report published by the Bild, Werner is set to join Chelsea as the Blues are ready to pay €60 million, more than what Liverpool was rumoured to offer.

Chelsea’s sudden advancement in this transfer saga has shocked their Premier League rivals, who for long felt that Werner is only interested to join the Merseyside club.

Amidst all of this, both clubs have time till 15th June to trigger the release clause, after that the designated release clause will be dissolved and RB Leipzig could enforce its demands over others.

According to Matt Law, Chelsea has already matched the release clause and Werner has reportedly agreed to join the West London club, whereas, Liverpool’s reluctance to match spill 60 million ultimately favoured Chelsea.

Other reports state, Liverpool still hasn’t started official talks with Leipzig for Werner, and reportedly always asked for time. Only talks with the player have been made via Jurgen Klopp.

Werner has been a hot property in Europe since long and this season his demand rose by many folds. In the 40 appearances this season, he managed to bag 31 goals and 12 assists.

He even played an instrumental role in RB Leipzig’s impactful campaign in Bundesliga and at one time they were even in serious contention of winning the title but ultimately lost crucial points in recent matches.

Nevertheless, Werner will be a bright addition in the Blues’ squad, but it will definitely impact the role of Tammy Abraham at the club, who gave a promising debut season and showed the potential of leading Chelsea’s frontline.

But at the same time, Lampard has to look at the upgrades and add depth in the squad. Moreover, Abraham had his share of injuries because of the overburden of the games he played.
