Is the news about Cristiano Ronaldo Kerala donation really true? Or another rumour circulated on the internet?

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most charitable athletes that one can come across. The Juventus forward is a superstar off the pitch as much as he is one the pitch with his contributions being recognized by bodies such as UNICEF and Red Cross among many more. A few years ago, he was named the most charitable athlete by the Forbes magazine as well.

One place that needs immense help and charity at this point in time is the state of Kerala, located in India. The southern state has suffered a massive flood due to the heavy rains in this year’s monsoon. Its residents are facing several problems such as cuts in electricity, loss of food materials among a lot of other things.

Several big names across the world have already donated tonnes of money so that Kerala people get through the difficulty as is every other Indian from other states as well. A rumour has suddenly emerged out of thin air that footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo has donated an amount of 770 million Indian rupees to those facing problems because of the flood, an amount that converts to $1.2 million.

While this news has not been confirmed by either the people of Kerala, Cristiano Ronaldo himself or his charitable agency, there are reports emerging about a probable helping hand provided by the Portuguese. Knowing Cristiano Ronaldo’s reputation in doing charity and Kerala’s warm relationship with football, it is certainly too early to rule out a help from Ronaldo.
