With the IPL just days away, all  franchises have begun ticket sales in order to help fans plan their IPL season. But when you start browsing through Mumbai Indians’ home schedule, you’ll see an anomaly, where tickets for the 3rd home game against the Gujarat Lions aren’t on sale for the general public.

The 3rd home game which is scheduled on the 16th of April at 4pm will witness underprivileged children filling up the stands in a wonderful initiative taken by the ‘Reliance Foundation- Education for all'(EFA). The EFA has been constantly working towards better education opportunities for underprivileged children and Nita Ambani has always tried to plug the Mumbai Indians and Mumbai FC in order to provide some entertainment to these kids.

A press release from the Mumbai Indians read: “Mumbai Indians will not be selling any stand tickets for its third home game, 16th April 2017 against Gujarat Lions as the entire stadium will be reserved for underprivileged children as part of Reliance Foundation-Mumbai Indians Education For All (EFA) initiative.”

Also, this is not the first time that a Mumbai Indians’ home game won’t be accessible to general fans; they had opted for something similar in 2015 when the Mumbai Indians took on the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Mumbai Indians play start their campaign on the 6th of April against the Supergiants in an away game. Their first home game is scheduled on the 9th of April, when the Knight Riders come down to Mumbai.

With Rohit Sharma recovering from an injury and no big name buys in the auction, the Mumbai Indians don’t look to be tournament favourites this time round. They have made some shrewd buys in Gunaratne and Johnson, but with an overall feeble batting lineup, it could be very tough against the top sides.

Buttler hasn’t been in great form off late and with Rohit Sharma unfit, their batting line up is in serious disarray. But with a bowling lineup that boasts of the likes of Malinga, Bumrah and Harbhajan; the Indians would always stay in the hunt.
