There is a big update on Virat Kohli’s status for the IPL ! Big news coming in from Bangalore as it looks like their skipper is ready to take the field for the first time in this season of the Indian Premier Legaue.
Virat Kohli has made a full recovery from the shoulder injury that he suffered in the third test match against Australia in the recently concluded test series. Kohli injured himself while fielding in the match and had to be taken off the field immediately.
He did not take part in the fourth test match as he was deemed unfit to even take the field. This shoulder injury kept him away from the initial few matches in the IPL as the Royal Challengers Bangalore badly missed the services of their captain.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Medical Team on Wednesday confirmed that Indian Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Mr. Virat Kohli has regained match fitness,” BCCI said in a release. “He will now be available for RCB’s next match against Mumbai Indians on April 14 in Bengaluru,” it added.
“The Indian Captain had undergone rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder and has now recovered to be able to participate in VIVO IPL 2017,” the statement further said. This is a big update on Virat Kohli’s status for the IPL.
This is huge news for the Royal Challengers side as they have not had a great start to the IPL. Bangalore relies heavily on its batting line up to put the runs on the board in for their pretty average bowling side to defend.
Bangalore also missed AB De Villers in the initial matche as he was recovering from an injury himself. The RCB team has had some terrible luck with injuries this season. They lost the likes of Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan to injury before the season began which weakened their batting line up.
Now that both Kohli and De Villers are back, the RCB side will be looking to re start their campaign with a win over the Mumbai Indians tomorrow. Kohli in particular will be a huge boost as he is arguably the best T20 batsman in the world right now.
Kohli was the star last season as he scored four hundreds and amassed over 900 runs in last year’s edition of the IPL. But he was unable to guide his team to the title as the Sunrisers Hyderabad beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.

Now can Kohli finally deliver the IPL title ?
