IPL Fantasy Tips for RR vs RCB

The final weekend of the group stages is here and to start it off we have RR and RCB taking on each other in what is a must-win game for both sides.

Both the ‘Royal’ teams find themselves on 12 points on the points table and need to win tonight to have any chance of making it to the playoffs.

RCB will be buoyed by the fact that they have a superior run-rate and in a case where 3 teams are tied on 14 points, they have a high chance of making it to the playoffs.

For RR though, their NRR could turn out to be a issue. However. if they beat RCB by a handsome margin tonight, they could push that run-rate higher, however the winning margin will have to humongous, and that does not seem like a probability.

RR are also without Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes for this encounter and thus will struggle to replace the duo tonight.

RCB are on a roll and are coming off 3 successive wins. Virat Kohli will need to fire today for them, as the Jaipur ground will aid his game.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in my side for this game.

With Stokes and Buttler out, Jofra Archer seems like the best possible option from RR. His death bowling skills have been sublime, as he has used the yorker and the slower one’s to perfection.

However, I would suggest that you get him in only if RR bowl first, because only then will his ‘death bowling skills’ kick in for sure.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Umesh Yadav could be good options for this game, and I would advise you to go with Chahal ahead of Umesh, keeping in mind the sluggish nature of the Jaipur track.

Chahal could also benefit from the long square boundaries in Jaipur and could end up getting a few cheap wickets while the batsmen try and take him on.

For the uncapped player, I would get in Krishnappa Gowtham into my side, who could get some purchase out of the wicket and could also be used in a pinch hitting role at the top of the order.

Note: I won’t be transferring in any player for this game except my uncapped substitution.

Now, I already have Virat Kohli, ABD, Krishnappa Gowtham, Ish Sodhi and Jofra Archer in my side for this game.

The usual suspects are already in my side and thus I don’t need to make any drastic changes to my side. However, I would use my free transfer and get in Moeen Ali, as he was in stellar form in the last game and his bowling could come really good on that sluggish surface in Jaipur.

However, if the pitch report suggests that the ball could turn a lot, Yuzvendra Chahal would be a better pick.

Batting Captain: ABD(if RCB bat first)/Virat Kohli(if RCB bat second)

Bowling Captain: Jofra Archer
