“I was about to say it. 'Pick someone else!”: Serge Aurier Reveals Details Of Tiff With Jose Mourinho

Tottenham are said to be on the cusp of relieving Mourinho of his duties

For manifold years now, all Jose Mourinho has been doing is resting on his past laurels. Washed up and far from well versed with the concepts of current day football, the coach has been a searing headache for his employers.

Much like his previous couple of clubs, Tottenham have had to learn that lesson the hard way as well. The side has been wavering in form across the last slew of months with the side finally hitting an undefendable rut as it crashed out of the Europe League.

Many believe it to be the last straw for Tottenham. Despite being heavily backed by chairman Daniel Levy, Mourinho’s exit is impending with a majority of the squad losing faith in Mourinho’s outdated tactics.

Mourinho To Be Next Portugal Coach

According to Don Balon, Mourinho has already resigned himself to the fact of being sacked by Tottenham. The outlet has also gone onto report that Mourinho has even struck up a verbal agreement with Portugal to take over from Fernando Santos once the imminent Euro 2020 curtails.

However, it remains to be seen if such a situation really transpires. Mourinho has a behemoth contract at Tottenham, one which will cost the Premier League club in millions of losses if they do indeed decide to wield the axe on him.

Tottenham Lambasts Tottenham’s Squad

Mourinho meanwhile had gone hammer and tongs recently after being defeated 3-0 by Dinamo Zagreb. In a public tirade, the Tottenham man had ripped into his team and blamed the defeat on his squad.

“To say I am sad is not enough. What I feel goes much further than sadness. I just left the Dinamo dressing room where I went to praise their guys and feel sorry that one team that is not my team won the game based on attitude and compromised so I feel more than sad. That’s it. Football is not just about players who think they have more talent than others. I believe the players only realised the game was in risk when they scored the second and it went to extra time,” he had said.
