Mason Mount as the Chelsea Captain : The previous Chelsea captain gave Mount his stamp of approval

Although he’s now no longer a part of Chelsea’s setup, John Terry clearly continues to hold the club dear to his heart. The previous player turned manager has often talked about Chelsea and the club’s ongoing travails despite having left the club long back.

One player who has left the defender besotted is Mason Mount. Terry has persistently lauded the Chelsea midfielder with him taking to Instagram last week to show how smitten he was by Mount’s exceptional ball handling abilities during Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Sheffield United.

Terry Left In Awe By Mount

And Terry has once again showered plaudits on the young Chelsea wonderkid. Speaking on Tuesday, Terry revealed that he sees Mount as Chelsea’s captain in the future.

“Mason Mount is 100% future Chelsea captain,” Terry said on Instagram Live. “He’s been the best player at Chelsea this season to be honest.

“He’s a great lad, trains unbelievably well, is Chelsea through and through and shows leadership qualities.

“In my mind he’ll be Chelsea and England captain.”

Terry Talks About Grealish And Foden

“What a talent. What a player,” Terry said as he talked about his current side’s captain, Jack Grealish.

“We’re lucky to have him at Villa but for me he’s one of the best in the Premier League without a shadow of a doubt and can still improve as he’s only young.

“The side people don’t see is he’s the last one to leave the training ground.

“He’s there every night, he wants to improve his strength, agility, speed, always looking at clips of himself after the game.

“He’s desperate to make the England team and has been instrumental in Villa’s success.”

Terry also opined on Phil Foden as he crooned plaudits the starlet’s way as well.

“When you talk about Phil Foden and Jack, they’re the two best young players in the world at the minute and we’re lucky they’re both English,: he continued.

“He’s 20-years-old and producing great skill and quality in a top side.”
