India had already picked up two wickets on the 4th day and were optimistic of finishing Australia up on the final day of the test match. (Twittersphere reacts to the 5th day of the Ranchi Test Match ) These hopes only increased when Renshaw and then the Aussie skipper Steve Smith were quickly dismissed to leave Australia on the ropes just before lunch.

But then Shaun Marsh and Pete Handscomb brilliantly played out the next couple of sessions before taking the game out of India’s hand completely forcing them to accept a draw.
