Sarfaraz Khan has been in the news for all the right reasons in the past few days, following his surprise retention by RCB in the IPL Player Retention special.

RCB retained Virat Kohli, ABD and Sarfaraz and have the option of using two RTM’s in the upcoming mega auctions.

While Virat and ABD were obvious choice, RCB went in with Sarfaraz because of his impressive cameos two editions ago, wherein he whacked Bhuvi left, right and centre and also because an uncapped pick costed them just Rs 3 crore instead of the Rs 7 crore that they would have had to pay for a capped player.

Sarfaraz is currently with the Uttar Pradesh team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament, enjoying his time with Suresh Raina and Kuldeep Yadav, and trying to make a strong comeback from his leg injury.

Sarfaraz Khan first shot to limelight whilst scoring runs for fun in the Mumbai cricket circuit. He shifted to the Uttar Pradesh team later and now plays his domestic cricket from there itself.

The youngster recently posted a video in Instagram, practicing some attacking shots in order to get himself ready for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Sarfaraz unleashed a helicopter shot over midwicket and over cover(haven’t seen that, have you) to the fast bowler and then got down on knee to belt the spinner over midwicket.

Check out the video:

The IPL is scheduled to begin on the 4th of April, with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings locking horns in the first match of the tournament.

Sarfaraz Khan would be hoping that he can make 2018 his year and come out with flying colours in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament and the upcoming IPL
