Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona

Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona: The midfielder has reportedly turned down a third contract offer from PSG.

Barcelona gained a much-needed victory in their Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur last night. Lionel Messi shined for Barcelona as he scored a brace and created chances for the other two goals as the Catalan club cruised to a 4-2 victory at Wembley Stadium.

Ernesto Valverde’s side endured a poor start to their season. Even when they are first in La Liga, Barcelona only have 14 points from their seven matches. They lost their only second league match of the year against the-then bottom-placed Leganes last week.

However, their arch-rivals Real Madrid are also suffering with form, and are goalless in their last three matches.

In the transfer market, Barcelona have received a huge boost as well, as their prime target Adrien Rabiot as reportedly turned down a new contract with Paris Saint Germain.

Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona?

The PSG midfielder was heavily linked with the Catalan club over the summer, but no substantial discussions took place between the two clubs. Rabiot, however, is reportedly interested in a move to Barcelona, and according to beIN Sports, he has turned down a third contract offer from the PSG.

The report claims that the French side is using manager Thomas Tuchel to persuade Rabiot to sign the contract, but the midfielder remains adamant on the move to Barca.

Rabiot’s contract with PSG expires at the end of the season, and as things stand, he can make a summer move on a free transfer.

Apart from Barcelona, Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea have also shown interest in the French midfielder.

What next?

Spanish outlets earlier reported that Barcelona want to sign ‘at least two players’ next year. These players include Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder is making headlines for his feud with Jose Mourinho. The duo was also seen arguing during a training session at Carrington last week. After the match against Valencia this week, Pogba said that he was banned from doing interviews.

Barcelona reportedly made a bid for Paul Pogba in the summer, but it was rejected by Manchester United.
