Rabiot to Barcelona

Adrien Rabiot has agreed to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed to join the La Liga giants FC Barcelona when his current deal with the French outfit expires after the completion of this season.

The French midfielder wanted a lucrative offer and was holding up plenty of offers to get that. However, the 23-year-old looks to have settled for an annual wage of 10 million Euros per year with the Catalans, according to the English outlet Guardian. Additionally, the club will also pay 10 million Euros as a transfer bonus when he signs in the summer window.

Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the midfielder who attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe. But, Ernesto Valverde’s side looks to have won the contest as confirmed by plenty of reliable reports despite denying that they have come to mutual consent and never negotiated with the player.

Currently, PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique said that the midfielder will not be associated with the first team until further notice. The staff also said that he would be available to feature for the French outfit should he agree to put pen to paper.

Current manager Thomas Tuchel saw Adrien Rabiot as the future captain over Paris Saint Germain and handed over the captain’s armband to him before the season. Despite having a private conversation with the player, the German was not able to convince the midfielder to stay at the club.

After the Sporting Director issued this notice, Tuchel had no second thoughts and accepted that Rabiot would never be part of the first time until they reverse the decision.

Barcelona are raiding another French International from the Ligue 1. The reigning La Liga Champions are the favorites to land the defender Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse. The 19-year-old attracted interest from Juventus and Napoli, but the Catalans look to have won the race for his signature.

With the signing of Rabiot, Barcelona are already packed in the midfield department which consists of Sergio Busquets, Artur Melo, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, and Rafinha. Paulinho could return next summer as he is only sent back on loan until the end of the season.

These options would probably put an end to the Dutch sensation Frenkie De Jong who has been linked with Barcelona over the last few months. Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester City looked to have battled for his signature, with Thomas Tuchel’s side looking the favorites to land him.

There is no doubt about the quality of Adrien Rabiot, but his stinky attitude has made the headlines at times. He refused to play for France when Didier Deschamps announced that he would be part of the World Cup reserves.

Besides, he has a habit of turning late to the trainings and team meeting. If he sorts himself out, there is no doubt that he would become an integral player of the squad at Barcelona.
