Despite enjoying some of his best moments as a manager with him time at Juventus, Antonio Conte clearly doesn’t have fond memories of his time with the Italian club. His spite of the club was clearly evident during his new employer’s clash with Juventus in the Coppa Italia.
Taking on Juventus in the second round of the semi-final between Inter Milan and Juventus, Conte was not in the best of moods on the day. With Inter Milan failing to traverse their way past a resilient and gusty Juventus side, the club found itself heading into the first half of the showdown with score’s level at 0-0.
Conte Shows Agnelli The Middle Finger
It was then that Antonio Conte’s animosity with Juventus was on full show. Encountering Juventus’ supremo, Andrea Agnelli on his way to the tunnel, Conte paused to show Agnelli the middle finger before departing at the end of the first half.
The action came in the wake of Conte and Agnelli’s persistent squabbling during the encounter. The two had exchanged fiery words with each other on a multitude of occasions with both letting each other know what they felt well known.
Juventus Progress To The Final
The tie meanwhile ended 0-0 with both the side’s failing to break the deadlock at the end of extratime as well. The result turned out to be a favourable one for Juventus with the club ensuring its passage into the showpiece summit clash owing to a 2-1 triumph in the first round.
The result now leaves Antonio Conte with only the Serie A to challenge for in the country. The Italian manager’s horrid form when it comes to domestic tournaments failed to improve with him being shown the exit door in another competition.
Inter Milan will now divert all their attentions towards snatching top spot in the Serie A from AC Milan. Only two points separate the two neighbours to see us be immersed in an edge of the seat fight for the coveted trophy, one which is found to go all the way down to the culminating stages of the season.
