Arsenal team news vs Huddersfield

Arsenal team news vs Huddersfield: The club received a massive setback as one for their first-team star is out for the season.

The side is currently 5th in the league after being held to a draw at Old Trafford. Goals from Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard denied Arsenal a win against Manchester United.

The Gunners will now make a trip to Huddersfield later tonight, in a bid to close the gap with top four. Tottenham regained third place in the table after their win against Southampton.

Earlier, Arsenal beat Tottenham in season’s first North London derby, as a brace from Aubameyang and a goal each from Lacazette and Torreira ensured a 4-2 win over Pochettino’s side.

The Gunners released their team news for the game against Huddersfield ahead of the game, and there was a massive shock for the fans.

Arsenal team news vs Huddersfield:

After Danny Welbeck’s severe injury, Rob Holding, who had been impressive under Emery this season, has been declared out for the rest of the season.

Holding suffered from a knee injury during the game against Manchester United. It was later confirmed by Arsenal that the defender ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in the game. He has now been ruled out for up to 9 months, which might even keep him out for the opening of the new season.

“Rob will undergo surgery in the coming days and rehabilitation is expected to take between six to nine months,” an Arsenal statement read.

“Everyone at the club will now be working as hard as we can to ensure Rob is back on the pitch as soon as possible.”

For the game against Huddersfield, Aaron Ramsey has also been confirmed a doubt after he limped off the field after the game against Manchester United.

Laurent Koscielny will be assessed for the game after it was confirmed that he limped off with cramps during Arsenal U21s’ Checkatrade Trophy game against Portsmouth. Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal, meanwhile, remain doubtful for the match.

What next?

Arsenal will look to return to top-4 with a win against Huddersfield tonight. The Gunners have a high chance of regaining the fourth place as Chelsea facing league leaders Manchester City.
