In which is expected to be a nail-biting One-Day tournament, the Asia Cup commences on the day after tomorrow with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka locking horns against each other in Dubai.
With the previous edition being won by India, the other teams would be working that extra yard to present a case for themselves. India giving rest to Virat Kohli might be seen as a potential reason for the other teams to boost their morale up ahead of the tournament.
That being said, the journey towards glory won’t be as easy as it sounds for all the teams including India.
The Asia Cup 2018 comprises of six teams which have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises of India, Pakistan and Hong Kong, who qualified after beating UAE in the final of the qualifying tournament. On the other hand, Group B comprises of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
After playing a couple of matches in their respective groups, two top teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four. Each team will play against each other in the Super Four and the Top Two teams will qualify for the final which will be played on September 28 at Dubai.
Out of the total 13 matches of the tournament, eight will be played in Dubai whereas the other five will be played in Abu Dhabi.
