Shocking transfer news has been building up outside of Italy since the last few hours and it claims that Spanish giants Barcelona could be looking to sign Chelsea’s defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante in the transfer window.

The defending La Liga champions are looking to overhaul their midfield and also provide competition to Sergio Busquets in his position. Andres Iniesta’s exit to Japanese outfit Kobe Vissel and Paulinho’s return to the Chinese Super League means that there is a void that Barcelona need to fill in the center of the park even after the arrival of Arthur.

Barcelona are not just the only club interested in the former Leicester City midfielder’s favors, they are set to rival Paris St. Germain. Ernesto Valverde’s side has also been linked to PSG’s Adrien Rabiot in the last few weeks.

Maurizio Sarri’s imminent appointment coupled with the landing of Jorginho could mean Kante heading out of London as Chelsea will be looking to balance out their accounts.

According to Sky Italia’s journalist Gianluca di Marzio, the Blaugrana could include Andre Gomes in the deal in excess of cash for N’Golo Kante. The 27 year old’s signing for Barcelona could be a massive boost to their already stellar squad.

The Camp Nou outfit has enjoyed unprecedented dominance in the La Liga and the Copa del Rey over the last few years but have not done well in the UEFA Champions League, where they have been knocked out in the quarter finals in three consecutive campaigns.

Meanwhile, Andre Gomes is also expected on the way out of Barcelona whether a deal is struck for Kante or not.
