With just a couple of weeks to go before the transfer window shuts, all the major clubs in Europe will be looking to strengthen their squads before September 1st.

One of the clubs who are actively searching for players is Barcelona. After Neymar’s sensational transfer to PSG, the Catalan club are desperately short of some star power in the side.

The Brazilian was one-third of the magical MSN trio, which conquered Europe not too long ago. While Messi and Suarez are still a fearsome duo, Barcelona will need to find someone who could fill Neymar’s void at the club.

Other than Neymar, Barcelona are also in the market for a midfielder who could replace the ageing Andres Iniesta. Barcelona were extremely keen on buying Verratti from PSG, before the Neymar transfer saga took over.

For the past few weeks, the Catalan club were hot on the heels of Phillippe Coutinho. The magical midfielder has reportedly handed in a transfer request, as he is trying to force his way out of Liverpool.

While Barcelona were confident of signing him just a week back, negotiations have reached a stand still, as Liverpool are steadfast in their refusal to let Coutinho go.

Now, the Spanish giants have turned their attention to another Premier League star.

Christian Eriksen is one of the most under rated midfielders in Europe at the moment. He is Spurs’ chief play maker, as his vision and intelligence allows the likes of Alli and Kane to fully express themselves.

Barcelona understand that they will need to put together an insane bid to prize Eriksen from Tottenham. The North London club have become a major player in the league over the last couple of years, as they finished in the top four for two successive seasons.

With a fantastic side and brand new stadium about to come, Spurs are going to enter a new era very soon. While Eriksen will no doubt wish to be a part of that era, the lure of Barcelona might just be too much for him.
