Barcelona propose a swap deal for Anthony Martial

It looks like Barcelona are serious about buying Anthony Martial from Manchester United next summer.

Barcelona are in need of an upgrade in their attacking options. While Luis Suarez is slowing down, the likes of Turan and Alacacer are not good enough for the club.

Summer signing Dembele is recovering from a major injury and will need time before he settles into a role at the club. That is why in spite of having Lionel Messi at the club, Barcelona are still lacking a cutting edge in their strike force.

With attacking players at a premium, Barcelona are looking to Manchester United’s Anthony Martial. Martial was a huge hit at Old Trafford in his debut season, but tapered off in his next year at the club.

In spite of already scoring five goals this season, Martial is still not a first team regular which is something that bothers him. Jose Mourinho is reluctant to give him a starting role as he has had to share his duties with Marcos Rashford.

Arsene Wenger is also an admirer of the boy, and believes that he has a very good chance of getting Martial in the summer. The French manager is held in high esteem in France, and is someone that Martial has great respect for.

While the prospect of playing for Arsenal would be appealing for Martial, the chance to play along side Messi at the Nou Camp would be another proposition all together.

Barcelona are very keen on having him, which is why they are offering Ivan Rakitic as part of a swap deal for the Frenchman.

Rakitic has been a smash hit at Barcelona during his time at the club where in he won the treble in his first season. He had opened the scoring in the Champions league final win against Juventus, and was a critical part of the Barca midfield.

His addition would instantly upgrade United’s middle of the park, and could end up being a great signing for all parties considered.
