Neymar to Barcelona

Barcelona are looking to sell Philippe Coutinho to fund a transfer for Neymar in the summer.

Barcelona are reportedly plotting a move for Neymar in the summer transfer window. It comes as a surprise because the Brazilian forced the move to Paris in the summer of 2017, and another Brazilian replaced him at Camp Nou.

According to Spanish football expert, Ben Hayward, who writes for the Evening Standard has claimed that Barcelona are looking to show the exit door for former Liverpool’s midfielder in the summer transfer window, and invite their former player Neymar in the summer transfer window.

Having started none of the games in the last four games, it has not gone up to plans for the midfielder who has been labelled as world class in the English Premier League. There is no doubt that he is struggling to settle in there after an excellent start the last term.

Currently, Coutinho is behind Ousmane Dembele in the wing position, and Valverde does not see the ability for Phil to play in the midfield three. He is behind the likes of Arturo Vidal and Artur Melo in the midfield department.

When the French International was not playing due to the repeated troublesome, Coutinho was slotted in because Valverde did not any other player to play through the wings. In the recent weeks, the former Borussia Dortmund forward has shown enough consistency to earn the Spanish manager’s trust.

Hayward has also claimed that Neymar has already held multiple meetings with Barcelona about his return to Nou Camp, with Lionel Messi speaking about the possibility in Christmas.

“We would love him to come back, for what he represents, both as a player and in the dressing room. We’re friends and we lived some very special things together.” said Messi.

Since arriving in Catalonia, Coutinho has won the La Liga, and Copa Del Rey, and will be likely to win any of those in this season at least.

But, his minutes have drastically reduced over the course of the season and has remained content with the board after failing to nail a spot in the starting eleven.

He has just nine games in the domestic competitions, which is very low for a player like Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona director Guillermo Amor, who ruled a potential move for Philippe Coutinho did not entirely dismiss the return of Neymar to Nou Camp by saying “Anything is possible”

Relationship with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have been rusty over the last few months as the La Liga outfit released a statement denying negotiations with Adrien Rabiot, but it was part of the negotiations tactics to lure the Brazilian to Catalonia.

Neymar will face a fight with his current club to move back to Barcelona. It remains to be seen as another transfer saga heats up following the transfer of the young Todibo from Toulouse who will move to Nou Camp following this season.

On the other hand, since Barcelona owe a lot of money to Liverpool, it will be interesting to see if he would be offered to the Reds again. But, it is easy to say that Jurgen Klopp has no interest in bringing the Brazilian back who left the club in an untidy manner last January.

Liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester United have been linked with the Barcelona midfielder, but there have not been any concrete reports about the deal.
