Borussia Dortmund have made some serious profit over the last few years by player sales..

Borussia Dortmund have been known for a place for young talents where they get nurtured and become a world class player one day. There have been several players who have caught Europe’s supreme clubs after entering the club as an unknown player.

When the club was so close to insolvency, Jurgen Klopp decided to take over Borussia Dortmund as the manager. The German International was forced to work with a minimal budget, and he made an excellent job as he was able to lift back-to-back Bundesliga titles with the German outfit.

After hitting the heights and catching most of Europe at Dortmund, players have decided to leave the club. The likes of Shinji Kagawa, Nuri Sahin, Robert Lewandowski, and Mario Gotze opted to look elsewhere and wanted a change in the adventure.

Despite losing those stars, Dortmund have been able to slowly build the side. They have made some immense money which accounted to 426 million over the last decade from the departure of just six players.

The recent player who decided to leave Borussia Dortmund to join elsewhere is Cristian Pulisic today. The USA International was seen as an exceptional talent over the last four years, but the wide forward decided to snub a new contract as he saw his future elsewhere.

It was January 2015 when Jurgen Klopp wrapped up the deal for the 20-year-old from a soccer club in the United States. He cost nothing for the club, but they were able to make €64 million from his sales.

Ousmane Dembele was wanted around various parts of Europe when he was doing wonders at Rennes. Borussia Dortmund were able to sign him for a fee of 15 million from the French outfit during the summer of 2016.

By taking the Bundesliga by storm, Barcelona were keen on securing his services. The Spanish outfit splashed 108 million which will rise to 138 million based on his performance. The profit made out of this deal is 93 million.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is probably worth every penny for the Gunners having scored week in week out. But, the Gabonese International turned out to be a massive profit for Dortmund.

He got himself transferred for a fee of 11.7 million in 2013. Five years down the lane, the German outfit got a profit of 53 million by selling him for a fee of 64.5 million last January.

When Nuri Sahin decided to leave Borussia Dortmund, there were plenty of headaches about his replacement. But, Jurgen Klopp has already secured a deal for Ilkay Gundogan from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of 5 million.

With his contract running down till 2017 summer, the German International decided to sign for Manchester City in 2016 when Pep Guardiola decided to pay 28 million for the midfielder.

Mats Hummels joined Dortmund for a fee of 4.5 million from Bayern Munich academy. He preferred a move back to his parent club for a fee of 35 million.

Despite the sales of all these players, they sit on top of the table as they try to win their first Bundesliga in seven years.
