Dana White reveals plans with Floyd Mayweather very possible

Dana White reveals plans with Floyd Mayweather very possible. The UFC president disclosed that he and the Boxing legend still have dialogue and go back and forth.

Floyd Mayweather and the UFC declared their intentions to host a Superfight back in 2019. The Coronavirus pandemic laid rest to any such plans. More so in Mayweather’s case who has undergone personal tragedies due to the virus.

Floyd lost both his ex, Josie Harris and uncle Roger Mayweather within a week. The 50 and 0 superstar is reportedly not in the state of mind to fight. However, UFC president Dana White has revealed that the two are still in touch and a collaboration is still very possible.

“Floyd and I still have dialogue and go back and forth,” White told TMZ. “We’re still interested on both sides. … Yeah, very possible.”

When asked if Conor McGregor, with whom Mayweather had his last professional bout to a massively lucrative outcome, featured in their plans, White said:

“No no no. I know he would rematch Conor McGregor but I don’t know if you heard about this but Conor McGregor’s retired,”

“When I’m doing things right now and running business, I don’t even think about Conor,” White added.

Conor’s retirement, his 3rd in 4 years, has understandably not been taken seriously fans. White however, is adamant that the retirement is real. At least until he hears differently from the Irishman himself. Till then, his priority lies with honoring his contract with his fighters.

“As of right here now today, Conor is retired until Conor tells me differently, I’m not trying to make any fights for Conor,” he said. “He’s not fighting. So, per my contract with fighters, I owe them three fights a year. If I do not deliver three fights a year, I have to pay them their money. Conor McGregor is retired.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
