Earlier it was reported that CSK are willing to retain three players such as MS Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina. But, now things are not the same as expected.

As per the reports from Tamil Dinathanthi, CSK will only retain two Indians that means MS Dhoni and Tamil Nadu ace Ravichandran Ashwin finds the room and the overseas is Faf du Plessis.

Suresh Raina finds no space in CSK. This comes as a bad news for Bleed Yellow as according to the retention policy for 2018 edition of IPL, each franchise is allowed to retain three players only such as two Indians and one overseas player.

CSK official Twitter handle has hit back at the rumours about not retaining Raina. The twitter handle tried to put an end to those speculations and urged the fans to bring the pride back together.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years in the lucrative IPL owing to the team owners’ alleged involvement in infamous betting reasons during the 2013 season.

After the ban, both franchises are all set to make a comeback and will take over Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions. The players who plied their trade for RPS and GL for two seasons will be picked by the return of roaring CSK and resurgent RR.

It is still not confirmed Suresh Raina’s future in CSK but it looks clear that MS Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin are the two Indians who are closing in on to CSK’s circle.

The flamboyant southpaw Raina has a staggering fan base in Chennai and the fans would not take it lightly if he is not retained. He is the leading run-scorer in the IPL.

The first decade of IPL is done and dusted. The eleventh edition of IPL can expect a cracker of a contest as close to 500 players will be going under the hammer. IPL governing council will officially announce the retention policy on November 21.
