DC Playing 11 today

DC Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you DC’s Predicted Playing 11 for their 12th match of IPL 2019 vs RCB.

The first match of what is set to be a scintillating Sunday in the Indian Premier League sees us move to the iconic Feroz Shah Kotla nestled in the capital city. It will be the home side, the Delhi Capitals playing host to the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they look to replace CSK to pole position in the league table.

Coming on the back of successive wins against the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, the Delhi unit will look to keep building on that momentum.

In what has been an exceptionally amazing season for them, silencing all their doubters as they sit second in the table with 14 points. However, Delhi’s home form has remained they biggest bone of contention. They’ve failed to read their home conditions throughout the season, floundering under spin friendly pitches.

Going into the 28th April clash, the Capitals will be looking to overturn that diabolic form and emulate the same away form at home that has seen them reach the pinnacle of the standings.

They know it won’t be the easiest of jobs though with the Virat Kohli lead visiting side bowling apart teams with an incredible turnaround in form. We take a look at the players Delhi will be entrusting with to take them to another 2 points on the day.

Top-order

There’s hardly any questioning the top three of Delhi with Shikhar Dhawan and Shaw being their openers for the entirety of the season, followed up by Shreyas Iyer in number 3. While Dhawan has been back among the runs for Delhi, Shaw on the other hand has been in treacherous touch.

Ever since his 99 early on in the season, the opener has completely lost all form, unsure of how to play both the faster and slower stuff. He’s been caught out of his depth far too often, throwing his wicket away cheaply to leave his side suffering early on. He needs to come sooner rather than later.

Middle-order

Hardly any changes here as well. The Delhi team management has a problem of being too rigid and this stubbornness might just cost them come the knock-out stages. Despite Munro being one of the most assured scorers in the shortest format of the game, he’s been endlessly shut out by the side and we don’t expect to see him featuring in this match either.

Finally showing his worth, Pant’s innings of 78* in 36 balls saw his side make pulverizing down even 192 an extremely easy task. At number 4, he’s looking a good option for Delhi at the moment, followed by Ingram and Chris Morris.

Bowlers

This is a slightly tricky proposition for Delhi. They’ll have to have a tossup between Sherfane Rutherford and Sandeep, two players who suffered abject outings the last time they represented the side.

While Sandeep could be a good option on a wicket that will turn sharply, seeing massive deviations on it, especially with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers both suffering against leg spin, we expect him to be left out.

Rutherford should get another go alongside Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma. The spin department will see Amit Mishra and Axar Patel hold fort for the side as they look to capitalize on the spin-friendly conditions.
