Everton are close to complete the signings for Yerry Mina on a permanent basis and Andre Gomes on loan.

The Premier League’s teams are in their final hours of being allowed to sign players ahead of next January. The transfer window shuts at 5pm British time on Thursday, which means all the deals have to be formulated soon.

Marco Silva has been appointed new Everton boss this summer and wants to stamp his authority onto the Toffees. He wants to add a central defender this summer to compete with Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka.

The Portuguese manager has shortlisted Yerry Mina of Barcelona, and the club has been attempting to strike a deal with the Colombian. Mina made only six appearances since signing for Barca in January.

Thanks to a brilliant performance at the World Cup with his national team, the 23 year old was later linked with a move to Manchester United and Everton. The Merseyside club is, however, close to sign him on the deadline day.

A fee worth 28.5 million pounds is reportedly agreed between the Blaugrana and the Toffees with personal terms and a medical pending. Barcelona are willing to sell Mina to get a non-EU spot freed, with Clement Lenglet also arriving at the club earlier this summer.

With Yerry Mina, Everton are also set to sign Andre Gomes on loan. Gomes fell out of favour since last season and has never been handed a chance to prove himself.

Earlier, Gianluca di Marzio reported that Barcelona offered 50m euros with Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes to Manchester United, for the acquisition of Paul Pogba.
