Everton are eyeing a double-scoop on Barcelona’s defensive duo, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne.

Fresh news emerges from England that Premier League outfit Everton are plotting a move for Barcelona’s defensive duo- Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne. Both of the young defenders are thought to be looking out of the Camp Nou, due to lack of chances that have been offered to them.

Clement Lenglet’s signing from Sevilla means that Yerry Mina has three options ahead of him at the centre of defence. Meanwhile, Lucas Digne hasn’t been able to pave his path into Barca’s starting eleven due to Jordi Alba’s consistent good form. The former Roma left-back also lost on a World Cup from France this year.

It looks like Ernesto Valverde is ready to offload his defensive starlets who have fallen back due to other star names in the squad.

Yerry Mina would have had spent just six months in Catalonia before his expected departure, while Lucas Digne’s two year stint would come to an end in which he has failed to win over both- Luis Enrique as well as Ernesto Valverde.

Newly appointed Everton boss Marco Silva wants to add his own stamp at the Goodison Park and has shortlisted the two stated names for a defensive overhaul.

The Toffees will be looking to finalize the signings of their wanted men in the next few weeks. The former Watford boss will take charge of Everton’s first Premier League game on the 11th of August against newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium.

He’ll be hoping that his bosses give him the resources that would help him in completing the timely signings that he requires.
