"My question is, what’s next?"- Lewis Hamilton calls for more action towards racial equality with powerful message

“My question is, what’s next?”- Lewis Hamilton asks for more action towards racial equality and end complacency in the course of action.

Lewis Hamilton claims to be committed to uplifting racial equality and adding opportunities for the people of colour in his professional sphere.

While the world set to complete the first year of the Black Lives Matter movement triggered after the brutal death of George Floyd last year. Hamilton asks for more action after posting a powerful message on Instagram.

“Black Lives Matter. Last year some of us took a knee in support of equality which I am proud of. My question is, what’s next? The inequities within our sport and within the world persist,” wrote Hamilton on Instagram.

“Change is still needed. We must keep pushing to hold ourselves and others accountable. We have to keep striving for equality for all in order to continue to see true and lasting change in our world.”

“As long as I have air in my lungs, I will continue to fight for change in everything I do. I will work to create pathways and opportunities for kids of colour within sciences, engineering and creative disciplines. Let’s keep pushing. What are you committed to?”

Lewis Hamilton disappointed with the lack of action by F1.

Hamilton has been a lone warrior in the battle against inequality from Formula 1’s end. However, there has been solidarity support from his colleagues. He being the only black driver on the grid, adds on the responsibility to his shoulders to head this cause on the track.

Moreover, there have been a few critics of Hamilton who found his stance to be over-activism. On the other hand, he received immense support from drivers like Sebastian Vettel, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly and his teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Hamilton even criticized F1 for not taking the example of NBA, NFL and the Premier League while showing support against racism.
