Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18 Tips: Team, Transfers, Fixtures And Captaincy Choices: The first blank gameweek of the season sees only 12 teams in action

The halfway mark of the Premier League sees the first blank gameweek get underway in the land of the Premier League. With the FA Cup and Carabao Cup being held earlier last week, only 12 teams will be in action as six matches take place in gameweek 18.

With some of the biggest clubs not stepping out to the pitch in this round of fixtures, teams are bound to be left bereft of a slew of players. It has lead to a hectic clamour for transfers as managers look to navigate their way around the testing slate of matches.

Goal-Keeper

Karl Darlow, 5 million

Up against the worst attacking team in the league, Darlow’s chances of emerging with a cleansheet today are at an all time high.

Defenders

Kieran Tierney, 5.4 million

The Arsenal fullback is fast becoming one of the most integral figures of the Arteta era. The defender has taken to life at the club like a fish takes to water with him fast making a name for himself.

Joao Cancelo, 5.8 million

The one thing City have done extremely well this season is to keep cleansheets. The defender has been exceptional this season, a player who is finally showcasing why the club shelved out a staggering amount for his services.

Roman Saiss, 5.1 million

With Dominic out for Everton, Wolverhampton are in with a solid chance of coming out unblemished today. And Saiss offers value up the park as well with him having thumped home the three headers for the side.

Sergio Reguilon, 5.7 million

Seeing their fixture reworked this gameweek 18, Tottenham’s Reguilon makes for a must have pick. He’s up against Fulham who have offered nothing up the park and with Sergio assisting in the Carabao Cup, he can end up with a wealth of points today as well.

Midfielders

Kevin de Bruyne, 11.7 million

Scoring and assisting for City against Chelsea, Kevin de Bruyne could end up once again going berserk this time around.

Heung-Min Son, 9.8 million

He recorded his 12th goal of the season the last time around, a strike which sees him once again earn a place in our framework for today’s outing.

Bruno Fernandes, 11.3 million

Although this fixture is going to be far from straightforward for him, Bruno’s current enigmatic and electric form sees him make for a dicey name to go into this round of matches without.

Phil Foden, 6.2 million

He’s scored in two successive matches now and given the bout of COVID cases to have stricken City’s ranks, Foden looks set to feature for the club today as well.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, 11.3 million

The one name we were far from sure of, we’ll be taking a gamble on Aubameyang for this forthcoming match against Crystal Palace. He scored in the team’s FA Cup tie and could easily make it two on the bounce against an opposition which is staring at the barrel.

Strikers

Harry Kane, 11 million

A goal and assist the last time around see Harry Kane line up as our solitary striker.

Captaincy Choice

Both Kane and Kevin were fair shouts for the captain’s pick but we’ll be sticking with Kane owing to Fulham’s shoddy defence.
