The Hitman undergoes surgery in London
Indian opener and prolific batsman Rohit Sharma has undergone a successful surgery on his right thigh in London. Consequently, the recuperative stage has begun and the batsman, popularly called as Hitman is holding up well.

The Hitman posted his pic on the hospital bed in London showing a thumbs-up sign. This coupled with his tweet spelled out good news for Indian fans. “All went well. Thank you for your good wishes. Can’t wait to be back at it!”, he said on his FB page.
The medical team of the BCCI confirmed that the thigh surgery was a success. The official statement in the report said, “The procedure was successful and Rohit will be discharged from the hospital in the next 24 hours.”
About the thigh injury
Rohit was recently left out of the Indian test team for the England series owing to this injury. Regarding his recovery, the statement also mentioned “BCCI medical team is constantly monitoring his treatment. We will oversee his recovery, towards becoming match fit.”

The Hitman suffered an injury on his right thigh in the 5th ODI against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam on 29th October. Moreover, the sights of the injury on TV were very unpleasant called for a extended time-out from the game. The area of contention was the thigh muscle tendon in the upper thigh/hip region.
The timeline of his much awaited return
The graceful batsman will be out of the scenes for a duration of atleast 10-12 weeks. Therefore, he runs a race against time to get fit for the critical 4 match test series against the Aussies from 23 February to 29 March.
