Fantasy Tips for KKR vs DD

Eden Gardens will be in full attendance today. Their adopted prince is about to return back to his kingdom, albeit in different colours, and the town would like to pay homage one final time.

Gautam Gambhir should dominate headlines today but Dinesh Karthik’s team will have to ensure that they don’t let emotions govern them today, as two losses in two games has pegged them back right at the start of the tournament.

Delhi on the other hand will be buoyed by their win against MI at the Wankhede as their batting unit flourished under pressure, chasing down 190 odd against probably the best death bowling unit in the IPL.

While DD look a fairly settled unit with multiple like-for-like replacements sitting in the dugout in case the players don’t perform, KKR have wafer thin squad and with a couple of players underperforming, they are searching high and low for answers.

Let’s get to business now!

IPL Fantasy League

Transfer out: Mayank Agarwal, Shane Watson

Transfer in: Chris Lynn/Chris Morris, Nitish Rana

Now, I already have Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia and Andre Russel in my team for this game.

Chris Morris, Chris Lynn, Rishab Pant, Glenn Maxwell and Jason Roy are in my consideration set for today.

I leave out Glenn Maxwell as he could by found out by the highly skillful spin trio that KKR have and with Aaron Finch still in the wedding hangover, I am sure some of it will rub off on Glenn Maxwell too.

Jason Roy did play a pivotal role in Delhi’s win over Mumbai, but again, against quality spin, I expect him to struggle and thus leave him out.

DD made a huge call by dropping Morris and Munro for the last game, despite the duo not having done much wrong.

Now, with Roy having made the most of his opportunity, I can’t see Munro coming back into the side, but Dan Christian didn’t do something worth noting and hence Morris should take his rightful place back.

So, do you get in Chris Morris? When pitted against Lynn, I would say Morris is the safer option, as he provides you with double scoring opportunities. But if DD don’t bat first, the double scoring opportunities go down massively, as in the 2nd innings, coming in at number 7, you can’t expect Morris to do much.

Now, KKR play a game today and day after and I already have two of their foreign players in my squad. If I get in a third, I wouldn’t be able to transfer him out before the next game, and I might have to get in AB de Villiers in(Note: Evin Lewis and Shane Watson are my other two overseas players right now).

Chris Morris could then be a good option as I can transfer him out after today’s game, as DD don’t play for sometime.

However, if the ultimate idea is to transfer out that one player, I don’t mind getting in Chris Lynn too, as I expect him to go big today.

He wasn’t able to time the ball well in the last game but was gradually getting into his groove.

Thus, If Morris plays and DD bat first, get Morris in, else get in Chris Lynn.

Kuldeep Yadav could be drafted in but he hasn’t quite set IPL 2018 on fire yet and I’ll wait for him to get back to his normal self first.

For the uncapped player, I get in Nitish Rana, who has shown a lot of promise this season and could finally dish out an innings of substance tonight. Get him in!

Match Powerplayer: Sunil Narine

2nd innings powerplayer: Chris Lynn(if KKR bat second)/Rahul Tewatia(if DD bowl second)

Transfer out: Shane Watson

Transfer in: Chris Lynn

Now, I already have Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav in my side for this game.

With KKR playing twice in 3 games, getting in Chris Lynn becomes an absolute necessity here, as he is due a big one.

Chris Morris could be an option if he plays(and probably the best of the lot) but my team combination does not allow me to bring him in.

Batting Powerplayer: Chris Lynn

Bowling Powerplayer: Sunil Narine
