Fantasy Tips for MI vs KXIP

Mumbai Indians have been in this ‘do-or-die’ situation for years now. And while it is not something to be proud of, but the fact that they have made it through to the playoffs despite that slow start is something that the entire team would take heart from.

Kings XI are novices as compared to Mumbai Indians, as they have either never been in such a situation or they haven’t really come out of it when put under the pump.

MI would be hoping that their ‘experience’ helps them triumph tonight, because a loss tonight will for certain mean curtains to a rather pained season for the ‘men in blue’.

KXIP have endured years of underperformance, primarily because their star players haven’t performed during crunch situations.

This year, Rahul, Gayle, Mujeeb and Tye have stepped up, however, that spark seems to be missing, especially in the last 6 games.

KXIP desperately need one of their stars to fire now, as MI will jump on any and every tiny mistake that KXIP make today.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Mayank Markande and Krunal Pandya in my side for this game.

I will get in just one player into my side from this game.

Andrew Tye and Hardik Pandya are the two players in my consideration set.

Now, I want to get Hardik Pandya in my side for this game, primarily because of his all round skills. Pandya has amassed 224 runs in this year’s IPL and has also picked up 18 wickets.

I would thus rate him higher than Tye, despite Tye being the purple cap holder at this stage.

Pandya could use the long handle to good effect on that ‘flat road’ at the Wankhede and hence could provide you with more fantasy points as compared to Tye.

If you feel Pandya is not the way to go, get Tye in if KXIP bowl first.

Rohit Sharma could be a good pick, as big players come good during big games, but due to the paucity of transfers, I leave him out.

Sharma could actually go big tonight, as Mujeeb might not be fit enough to play and without him, KXIP don’t have the pedigree to trouble him with the ball.

For the uncapped player, I get in Suryakumar Yadav, who has been in brilliant form for MI at the top of the order.

Match Powerplayer- Hardik Pandya

2nd innings powerplayer- KL Rahul(if KXIP bat second)/Suryakumar Yadav(if MI second)

Now, I already have Chris Gayle, Andrew Tye and KL Rahul in my side for this game.

Hardik Pandya will be the first player that I draft into my side for this game for reasons already given in the Fantasy League section.

Rohit Sharma will be my second pick for this game. He hasn’t been in great knick, but the big players rise to the occasion when needed most and in a do-or-die for the Mumbai Indians, you expect the captain to go big.

I won’t be bringing in any other players for this game.

Batting Powerplayer- KL Rahul

Bowling Powerplayer- Andrew Tye(if KXIP bowl first)/Hardik Pandya(if MI bowl first)
