January Transfer Window: Talks Between Real And David Alaba Reach An Impasse Over Wage Issues: The Bayern Munich player is unwilling to accept the terms dished out by Real Madrid

One of the most coveted names in this January transfer window, David Alaba looked to have sealed his future. With a bevy of reports coming out of Spain and Germany alluding towards the player inching closer to a deal with Real Madrid, it looked only a matter of time before an announcement would be made.

However, as per fresh reports, the two parties are still far from finalising a contract. David Alaba is said to have rebutted the deal Real Madrid have offered to him with the player not satisfied with the yearly wages being offered to him.

David Alaba To Real Madrid?

Real Madrid have offered Alaba a 9 million pound per year deal, a figure which has been spurned by the defender. The Austrian player is said to be holding out on 12 million pounds per year as he aspires to become the highest paid player at the club.

With Real Madrid in a dire situation when it comes to funds with the Coronavirus pandemic leaving them extremely bare chested, it remains to be seen if both can find a meeting point. The logjam is bound to rekindle interest from a string of quarters with all of Manchester United and Chelsea said to be eager to bring the player in.

Alaba whose current contract at Bayern Munich ends in 6 months has already made it clear that he doesn’t want to stay at the Bundesliga club anymore. The 28 year old will be available as a free agent come the summer of 2021, a proposition which has lured a string of top clubs across the global stage.

Alaba’s versatility and ability to play across the park is what makes him such prime property. The player can play both as a leftback and a left central defender along with slotting into the CDM role.

He’s endured consummate success with Bayern Munich, lifting a hoard of trophies with the German club. Alaba looks set to be part of another Bundesliga triumph this season as well with the player having already been handed out 19 outings despite his current logjam with the club.
