Cricket-loving Indian fans were the happiest as the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s Governing Council allowed the franchises to retain a maximum of five cricketers from their last squad for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), who are returning to the IPL after a serving a two-year suspension

The announcement obviously meant that former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, was going to reunite with CSK, after playing for the Rising Pune Suprgiant for the past two seasons.

CSK fans were desperate for knowing their retentions, and the ‘Whistle Podu’ squad were not disappointed by the franchise, with the 2-time IPL winners retaining fan favorites Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja along with MSD.

The fans and the players are all excited to welcome CSK back into the IPL, with star player, Suresh Raina, confirming that he will be the vice-captain of the team in the upcoming IPL seasons.

“MS Dhoni is going to be the captain, I’m going to be the vice-captain, Jadeja is also going to be there. Then there are certain players in the auction. We all will be having a meeting soon and then decide what planning we will be having for the auction,” the left-handed batsman revealed.

“This year you will have the best team in CSK, I have a feeling. Because two years I have played for Gujarat, he (Dhoni) played in Pune and played a lot of matches for India also and then I’ve been playing a lot of domestic games…I’ve seen a lot of talent,” Raina further added.

The IPL 2018 auction will be held in Bengaluru on the 27th and 28th of January 2018.
