Kevin Durant advised on how to enter Michael Jordan-LeBron James GOAT debate

Kevin Durant has won 2 back to back NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors and also was the recipient of the NBA finals MVP in both those years. However, he still finds it tough to enter the GOAT debate or ever make it to the consideration set for a regular season MVP award.

Durant has been mighty impressive for the Warriors in the last 3 seasons, forging a terrific partnership with Steph Curry and helping the Warriors resurrect their dynasty in the sport.

The Warriors have found this season to be a little tough than the previous few, but when the playoff months come around, they are sure to rise to the occasion and make a case for winning 3 NBA titles in a row.

But will that help KD enter the GOAT debate or will he still have to do that little bit more, before he can be mentioned in the same breath as LeBron and MJ?

New York Knicks legend, Walt Frazier has weighed in on Kevin Durant’s current status in the ‘GOAT debate’ and has advised him on how he can make that leap into the elite list of NBA athletes.

Durant who is approaching free agency, will have a tough decision on his hands post the ongoing season, as he could move away from the Bay area and build a legacy for himself elsewhere, or play his trade with Curry and Thompson with the Warriors itself.

According to Frazier, Kevin Durant has to move to Knicks and form a legacy of his own, if he wants to reach the level of Jordan and LeBron(or maybe even overtake them).

“I think that’s what he needs,” Frazier said, talking about KD’s move to the Knicks.

“Especially if the Warriors win this year, I think he’d be looking for a different challenge.

“I don’t know a better place than New York where he can do it. Where else could he go to get what he’s looking for, to be the best in the game? If he could bring a title to New York, that’s going to catapult him with Jordan and LeBron, I would think.” he added.

KD has been heavily criticised for joining the 73-9 Warriors, as it was seen as an easy way of piling up those NBA titles, and thus he might want to just resurrect his image a little by joining the Knicks and building a legacy for himself.

In order to match Jordan’s legacy, KD will need to win a minimum of 6 NBA titles and while that could happen with the Warriors, his legacy would always be a little tainted, as the Warriors managed to win a title without him as well.

What do you think KD should do?
