Keylor Navas on Cristiano Ronaldo

Keylor Navas on Cristiano Ronaldo: The Real Madrid goalkeeper spoke about the former Real Madrid star after defeat against CSKA Moscow.

Real Madrid are struggling to find goals at the moment, as the club is yet to find the back of the net since the last three matches. The last time Real Madrid went goalless in three matches was in 2005/06.

Julen Lopetegui’s side suffered a shock defeat to Russian side CSKA Moscow in the Champions League last night. Real Madrid lost 1-0 at Russia, and are now tied with Roma at second place.

In La Liga, Real Madrid are level on points with Barcelona, who are also struggling with form. The Los Blancos suffered a massive 3-0 defeat to Sevilla in the mid-week, and played a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid last week.

Keylor Navas, the deputy goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois, who started in front of goal against CSKA Moscow yesterday, has now spoken about Real Madrid’s struggle with form.

Keylor Navas on Ronaldo:

The Costa Rican goalkeeper stressed that Real Madrid are missing Cristiano Ronaldo, and the void is too large to fill.

“Cristiano left the bar very high at Real Madrid,” said the goalkeeper. “You cannot cover the sun with a finger.

“He made many goals while he was here, but it’s already the past and we cannot live in the past.”

Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid this summer in a stunning move to Italian club Juventus. The Portuguese forward scored 44 goals for Real Madrid last season and left the club as its highest goalscorer in history.

“We are sad because they had one chance and took it. We made some stellar chances, but could not get it in. In every game you want to score goals and we had some chances to do so. We were unlucky.

“We want to start scoring again in the coming games,” said Navas.

What next for Real Madrid?

Lopetegui’s side will aim at bringing their season back on track when they travel to Alaves on Saturday. Real Madrid are currently at 14 points in La Liga in seven games, and dropped five points in their last two league matches.

The Spanish giants intend to improve on their La Liga campaign this year, as the club finished third in the previous season, behind Barcelona and city rivals Atletico Madrid.
