The Indian captain Virat Kohli who is good at getting into the scheme of things on a consistent basis wants some break from the sport.

India have another home series ahead against Sri Lanka for three Tests, three ODI’s and three T20I’s respectively. Virat Kohli will partake only in one Test and will be rested for the remainder of the home series.

After playing some relentless cricket, Kohli has told the BCCI that there are personal reasons and he won’t mark his presence in December.

Kohli’s deputy Rohit Sharma gets an opportunity to lead the side for the first time in his career in absence of Virat Kohli.

“Kohli has informed the BCCI that there are some personal reasons and that is why he won’t be available in the month of December.

Kohli has been playing non-stop cricket for quite sometimes now and he certainly would like to be fresh for South Africa tour in January,” a source in the board was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Before the kick of India-New Zealand series, the Indian skipper was asked how he would deal with the tight schedule.

“Yes, we have spoken about the schedule, it’s become quite hectic. That’s something we will definitely have to sit and discuss in future.

Because, if you look at New Zealand, they haven’t played any cricket after Champions Trophy. There has been such a good lay off.

It can be the difference in doing well in a big tournament and performing poorly,” Kohli said.
