Indian Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav disclosed how MS Dhoni helped him pick a hat-trick against Australia at Eden Gardens.

Kuldeep Yadav has been a revelation in international cricket in the recent times and has been going great guns. Even the best of the batsmen have not been able to pick him up and have struggled against his variations.

Dhoni not only contributes with the bat and is outstanding with the gloves, he also helps his teammates whenever he can. Dhoni keeps chirping from the back when Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are bowling.

This has become a common sight in Indian cricket in the recent days. Whenever the spinners err in length or line, there is always someone from the back of the wickets to help them get back on track. Recently, in the show ‘What the duck season 3’ with Vikram Sathaye, Kuldeep revealed how Dhoni’s advise helped him pick a hat-trick against Australia at Eden Gardens.

The match was against Australia and Kuldeep had gone for plenty in his first five overs. Kuldeep just changed his end and asked Dhoni what he should bowl. Dhoni told him to go with his stock deliver as Mathew Wade looked under pressure.  As it turned out, Kuldeep picked up two wickets in two deliveries.

On the hat-trick ball, Kuldeep asked Dhoni what to bowl and the veteran keeper said, “Jo dalna hai daal de”, which roughly translates to ‘bowl whatever you have to’.

Kuldeep initially decided to bowl a leg spinner but changed his mind midway and bowled a googly. Pat Cummins was caught in the slips and Kuldeep got his hat-trick.

As a result, Kuldeep became only the third Indian to take a hat-trick after Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev.
