The Croatian midfielder reportedly wants to join Italian club Inter Milan.

Luka Modric has been linked with a transfer to Serie A giants Inter Milan. The Croatian is one of Real Madrid’s best players and arguably the world’s best midfielder. His quality was clearly visible when he played an integral role in Croatia’s journey at the World Cup in Russia.

The Balkan country finished as a runner up behind France against all odds. Luka Modric in particular stood out, and thus, won the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball. He is also one of the strong favourites to win the FIFA Best Player Award in September.

The soon to be 33 year old has been heavily linked with a move to the San Siro in recent days. Modric’s future is taking a little more time to get sorted due to his extended vacation after his national commitments in Russia.

Real Madrid are surely aware that they cannot allow Luka Modric to leave the club after they suffered setbacks of Zidane and Ronaldo departures. Also, Mateo Kovacic, who was tipped to be Modric’s successor has been loaned out to Chelsea for a year.

Modric’s representatives and the board of directors of Real Madrid are expected to hold a meeting regarding the player’s future soon. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is looking to leave for an offer that is considered to be extremely attractive.

However, Florentino Perez is a huge fan of Modric and is thought to be ready to offer a good increment to the player.

The club knows that it is not just about keeping Luka Modric at the club, but also keeping him happy and in high spirits. When asked about a possible sale of Modric to Florentino Perez, the club’s president was clear that the Nerrazzuri won’t be allowed to sign their target for a fee lesser than his release clause of €750 million.

The club values Luka Modric a lot and both the parties are willing to agree on being associated if the economic parameters are met.
