Manchester United are currently monitoring Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng.

Bayern Munich’s CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has broken silence on the Jerome Boateng situation at the German club. Rummenigge has said that Boateng will be allowed to leave Bayern Munich if the bid is right.

The German international himself admitted in April that he is considering his future at Bayern Munich. Boateng said that he has “experienced everything” in his seven years at the club.

According to Manchester Evening News (MEN), Manchester United are monitoring the Jerome Boateng situation at Bayern Munich.

Jose Mourinho faced problems with consistency in the defence. With regular injuries throughout the season for Bailly and Rojo, Smalling and Jones were the regular starters for the club. United was sloppy in the defence as they dropped points against the lower ranked sides in the Premier League table.

This has led to Jose Mourinho entering the market for a reliable centre-back.

United may have had the second best defence in the Premier League this season, but it can be largely credited to David de Gea’s terrific saves.

Manchester United prioritise a move for a central-defender this summer, and are also keen on Tottenham Hotspur’s centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

Boateng still has two years remaining in his contract at Bayern Munich. However, Rumminegge has said that the club will consider offers for the defender.

“If a club comes to us and he says that he wants to join that club, then we will negotiate. But the offer has to be important,” Rumminegge told Bild.
