Ivan Perisic to Manchester United

Manchester United have been handed a boost as Inter Milan are prepared to offload their attacker Ivan Perisic.

Manchester City have been long term admirers of Ivan Perisic who was close to signing for the Red Devils last summer. Inter Milan are prepared to offload Ivan Perisic to fund the move for either of Luka Modric or Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer transfer window.

Jose Mourinho was a big fan of the world cup finalist because of his contribution towards the final third and the amount of work rate he puts in to make his team tick. However, it remains to be seen if the new Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in the Croatian.

Asked about United’s interest last summer, Perisic said

“It’s true that an offer from Manchester United was on the table and I was close to leaving Inter.

“But I decided to stay and, as I said, Luciano Spalletti’s perseverance to keep me played a big role.

“In football, small details in these situations are key but admiration from a Coach like Jose Mourinho is definitely something that flattered me.”

Under the Norwegian, the likes of Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, and Marcus Rashford have flourished. Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku are other options in the disposal. Since Ivan Perisic can operate through both the wings, it will be interesting to see how the Red Devils will react to this news.

Manchester United’s record signing has been a revelation of late as he has scored 9 goals and has found his teammate on 7 occasions. Since Solskjaer took over, Rashford has scored three goals and has assisted once in four games.

According to the Italian outfit Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri would welcome offers for the 29-year-old and would be prepared to cash in on him if the offer reaches their demands.

Luka Modric is one among the elites, and it would require at least 80 million to lure him away from Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand, the Serbian and Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been one of the best midfielders in that league, and anything around 100 million would be enough to prise him away.

During the last summer transfer window, Juventus’ 100 million euro offer was quickly turned out the club based in Rome. Lazio were demanding more than 120 million to secure his signature, but the Old Lady did not evaluate him more than the offered amount.

Should the Red Devils show interest on bid around 50 million for him, the deal should go through as he would turn 30 during the next summer. However, with Sanchez wanting out of Manchester United, they could turn to an experienced head in the summer window.

Manchester United have been in fine fettle with hundred percent win record under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will be looking to do the same when they will face a stern test against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday.
