The English forward has sustained a knock to his knee.

England received a blow on Wednesday as forward Marcus Rashford sustained a knock to his knee. He hurt his knee during the training session at St. George’s Park on Tuesday.

Rashford complained about the soreness in his knee when the squad landed in Russia later, which has raised doubts over his fitness.

England had their first training session six miles away from their base in Repino today. Marcus Rashford sat through the whole session.

“Marcus took a slight knock, but nothing too serious,” the manager said yesterday. “We’ll look at that ahead of tomorrow’s session.”

Rashford is an important first team player for the English side and has delivered decent performances in the warm-up matches leading to the world cup.

All the players except Marcus Rashford took part in the training session.

Sky Sports journalist Alex Marrow said, “Rashford [is] not training due to a knock to his knee. We’re told this is a precautionary measure.

Eric Dier also has some strapping on his left thigh. [He] Seems to be moving fine though.”

Anton Toloui, another Sky Journalist who was present during England’s training session, said that proper training will start from tomorrow.

“England are having a leisurely jog around, nothing too strenuous this afternoon. Full training proper starts tomorrow, today is just shaking off the stiffness after a day of traveling yesterday.”
