Mercedes' Haiku for Raikkonen

Mercedes’ Haiku for Kimi Raikkonen on National Poetry day has to be one of the best things after Kimi’s book itself.

Kimi Raikkonen surprised everyone from the F1 fraternity when he came up with his own ‘Haiku book’ today morning, with journalists from the paddock posting pictures about the clever little poems that Kimi had come up with.

Kimi then took to his own Instagram to announce the launch of his haiku book, a launch that wasn’t at all expected.

The book is called ‘Winnow your words(Kimi’s book of Haiku)’ and has some pretty interesting stuff on Kimi’s life on and off the track.

A few examples:

While there has been no confirmation about the book going on sale, there are rumours that this largely a marketing gimmick.

Kimi however posted about the book launch himself, comparing himself to Shakespeare in the process.

Now, with the Haiku fever catching on, the F1 and Mercedes twitter handles too decided to jump on the bandwagon, with the F1 handle just posting snippets of Kimi’s book and the Mercedes team going a step ahead and creating a Kimi Haiku of their own.

The Mercedes social media team has been the best in the 2018 season and they did their reputation no harm by coming up with this little Haiku, just at about the right time.

Kimi Raikkonen had entertained F1 fans all around the world with his brevity, especially during press conferences, and what better way to utilise your brevity than to come up with exquisite Haikus.

All we can say is thank you Kimi, you made our day.
