Miguel Almiron to Arsenal: Arsenal are set to sign MLS star and Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron.

Arsenal are in red-hot form at the moment. Unai Emery’s side is enjoying a great run in form as the team is currently on a 8-match winning streak across all competitions. Unai Emery’s side are fifth in the Premier League, level on points with city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Last week, Arsenal also cruised to the next round of the Carabao Cup, after defeating the lower-league side Brentford. Unai Emery’s side then defeated the high-flying Watford in the weekend fixture.

In their Europa League match against Qarabag, Arsenal comfortably extended their winning run to eight games in all competitions. Arsenal beat Qarabag 3-0, with goals from Sokratis, Emile Smith-Rowe and Mateo Guendouzi secured another three points for the Gunners.

Apart from their on-field performances, Arsenal are also taking positive steps in their off-the-field activities in the transfer market. The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Ever Banega to replace Aaron Ramsey, but gain a major boost for the winter transfer window.

Miguel Almiron to Arsenal:

According to FOX Deportes USA, Arsenal have sealed the transfer for Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron. The 24-year old footballer is an attacking midfielder who currently plays for MLS club Atalanta United.

Almiron scored 12 goals and assisted 13 in 32 matches in the current season for the MLS side.

The club’s president, Darren Eales, was quoted as saying by the US media outlet that Almiron will not be a part of the club in January. “Almirón’s future is already decided and will go to England in the European winter market,” said the president.

The report claims that Arsenal had shown interest in the midfielder earlier, and are now set to pay €13m for Almiron.

“I’m sure at some stage there will be that too-good-to-refuse offer that comes in and that’ll be the right move for everybody — for the club, for the player, for the league. So when that comes, we’ll cross that bridge,” Eales earlier said about Almiron.

What next?

Arsenal are still searching for a replacement for Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who looks set to leave the club next year.

The talks between Ramsey and Arsenal over a new contract have failed, and the Welshman could leave Arsenal on a free next summer.
