Mourinho on game vs Arsenal

Mourinho on game vs Arsenal: The Manchester United manager talked about the side’s quality after the 2-2 draw.

Manchester United came from behind twice to draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford. Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were on the scoresheet as United held Arsenal to a draw.

The side, however, has now slipped to 8th in the Premier League table. Arsenal too, have now dropped out of the top-4 after the draw, as Tottenham won their game against Southampton.

For Arsenal, Shkodran Mustafi opened the goalscoring, while an own goal from Marcos Rojo gave them the lead again in the game.

Manchester United will now take on Fulham on Saturday as they aim to return to winning ways in the league. This was United’s third successive draw game in the league. Mourinho’s side are winless in their last four matches in the top flight.

Jose Mourinho interacted with the media following the draw.

Mourinho on game vs Arsenal:

Jose Mourinho stated that his side showed soul, but hinted that they lack ‘certain qualities.’

“]There were] Some good performances,” Mouriho began. “First game for Dalot, Rojo in his first few minutes, Darmian for his 3rd game, Bailly did not play for 2 months, Smalling is a brave guy who played with problems. They left their souls.”

Mourinho conceded that United should’ve won the game, and Arsenal’s two goals were a result of mistakes made by his side.

“We should have won the game. We’ve made two big mistakes. Errors and bullet losses that you normally don’t do at this level. The whole performance is marked by these ups and downs. The second goal comes at a terrible moment.”

The manager, however, stated that there are ‘things he couldn’t get from them.’ Mourinho refused to clarify the comment.

“It’s positive [that players come back to score and sacrifice themselves], but there are things I can’t get from them and I can’t say more. Everyone has given everything and that is a good thing.

“We always have the first chance of the match. But how often do we mark and build from that? It’s very rare. But I’m happy with the guys. The mindset was at Man United’s level, but we lack certain qualities.”
