Mourinho on return to management

Mourinho on return to management: The Portuguese manager was sacked as the manager of Manchester United last month.

Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho in December 2018, bringing their former club star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to replace him.

Mourinho won three trophies during his time at Old Trafford, which included the club’s first ever Europa League title in 2017. However, the later stages of his tenure at Manchester United were marred with various controversies.

His fall-out in the relationship with Paul Pogba became a major issue in the Manchester United dressing room, and the situation became worse after the duo was caught arguing during a training session earlier this season.

However, it has now been reported that Jose Mourinho has offers on the table from various European sides. While the Portuguese forward reportedly rejected an offer from Benfica, clubs like Real Madrid and Inter Milan are interested in a reunion with their former boss.

Mourinho on return to management:

Mourinho has termed it a ‘tremendous honour’ to be linked with his former clubs.

The Portuguese manager earlier had two stints with Premier League side Chelsea, and stated that he felt ‘positive’ when he returned to Stamford Bridge. Mourinho talked to Portuguese outlet Corriero da Manha/Record.

“They are things that are said and I will not feed,” Mourinho began.

“When a coach or a player comes back [to an old club], it means we did something positive. I felt it when I returned to Chelsea.

“When a professional is invited to return, it is a tremendous honour. If they invite you, it’s because they know the value of that person.”

In the same interview, Mourinho also talked about Manchester United. However, he refused to comment on his sacking, and insisted that it’s an ‘ended chapter.’

“I always learned that when you leave a club, you do not talk.

“When you leave a club, you do not wash dirty clothes, you do not seek to, at least publicly, do any kind of criticism, it’s an ended chapter and that’s how I always did it.”
