CSK’s probable playing XI against KXIP at Pune

MS Dhoni almost pulled out one of the greatest escapes last night, as CSK eventually fell short of KXIP’s total by four runs.

It was a sensational innings by Dhoni, who almost rescued a seemingly situation for CSK. At one stage, Chennai needed 85 to win off the last six overs, something that seemed beyond even the great MS Dhoni.

But Dhoni showed us all last night that you can never count out a champion like himself, as India’s legendary world cup winner started teeing off on the Punjab bowlers.

Battling a bad back, Dhoni ultimately fell short in the final over, as Mohit Sharma managed to restrict the CSK skipper.

After the match, Dhoni defended CSK’s decision to send Jadeja ahead of the in-form Bravo, as the CSK skipper believed that he will do well for the team in due course.

“It’s a difficult one. And Fleming is in the dugout, so he needs to take that decision. And, we have confidence in Jadeja also, one of the reasons is that being a left-hander, it’s not easy to consistently bowl to a left-hander and also this is the time that we can give him that opportunity to express himself.” said Dhoni in the post-match presentation.

“If he doesn’t do [it]. Bravo is an experienced one, he can always go back and do the job for us. But overall, Jadeja is somebody who can do it for us. Unless we give him an opportunity; so far we have never really given him the kind of opportunity that he really deserves, so I will definitely back him to come good in the coming games.” Dhoni added.
