It was earlier revealed that former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni is keen to learn enough Tamil, as he made a surprise appearance in a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) game. Dhoni now opens up on him again, and reveals why he rarely attends phone calls.

This story about the celebrated cricketer has been circulating in the media for a lot of time, and now the 37-year-old has finally chosen to clarify on it.

The wicket-keeper batsman revealed that he does not use his phone a lot, and thinks that the device should be used in the correct manner. He confessed that there is a thick line between him and technology, and revealed stories about him not attending phone calls.

“Me and technology, there is a big divide. I don’t use phones so much and there are a lot of stories I don’t pick up phones. But I do use technology as well. When I am shown some videos, you wonder if I am playing it right. Technology has to be used in right way,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by India Today.

Last month at the end of the final ODI against England at Leeds, there were speculations regarding Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket when he asked the match umpires for the ball. The veteran batsman’s form with the willow has been in question now, and India’s loss to England in the ODI series brought more ruthlessness from critics.

Nevertheless, India’s coach Ravi Shastri and MS Dhoni himself clarified why he had asked for the ball. The former Indian skipper revealed that he took the ball to aid India in training for reverse swing in English conditions.

This might just be a good decision, since Indian bowlers struggled bowling at the death, and any aid in the form of reverse swing will be an added value for them. Moreover, with the World Cup approaching next year in England, it will be a great advantage for the Men in Blue.

The 37-year-old, who bid farewell from Test cricket at the end of 2014, resigned as India’s limited-overs captaincy back in January last year. His next assignment will be India’s visit to UAE to play the Asia Cup in September.
