LeBron James and the Lakers may just be title favorites again.
Yes, yes, we hear you Nets fans, but we’ll still stick with this one, for now at least. At the end of the day, the sheer star power of Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, and LeBron James, combined with some really good 3-and-D players makes it difficult to put any team above them.
Speaking of those 3-and-D players though, we have to tip our hat to the organization. Not only were they able to get those roster spots filled up quickly, but they were also able to do it incredibly efficiently.
It almost seems like barely any money was spent on the rest of this roster anyway. But, once it’s put into perspective, just how deep that goes is absolutely staggering.

LeBron James and the Lakers have 7 people under contract at Evan Fournier’s price to the Knicks
For those that don’t know, the Knicks were able to acquire the services of Evan Fournier for $78 Million paid over 4 years. That gives him an annual salary of $19.5 Million per year.
Given his abilities, and what he will provide to New York, sure it’s a tad bit of an overpay, but nothing blasphemous. However, what the Lakers have been able to do with the same amount of money really shows the difference between the two franchises.

There is one mistake here though. When you consider Kendrick Nunn’s contract, the money really goes up to $20 Million.
Still, getting so many really good players on such low contracts is seriously just an astounding feat. But, if the Lakers can’t win this year, we could well see this whole roster around LeBron James fall apart as soon as it was put together.
