Is LeBron James playing tonight vs Trail Blazers? Lakers release ankle injury report ahead of game against Damian Lillard and co

Will LeBron James be suiting up against the Portland TrailBlazers tonight? Lakers star admits that his ankle has felt better.

The Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. The Lakers handled business quite handily as they blew the Wolves out 127-91. This was with All-NBA big man Anthony Davis taking a backseat and resting for the night.

Though the Lakers seem to be on an upward trajectory coming off two wins, LeBron James’s physical health is still a minor issue at the moment. LeBron initially injured his right ankle in the Lakers season opening loss to the Clippers.

Despite the injury, the reigning Finals MVP has yet to miss a game as he has powered through the right ankle sprain. However with their bout against the Portland TrailBlazers coming at the tail end of a back-to-back, it is unclear whether or not James will hit the floor or not.

Is LeBron James going to be on the active roster tonight for the Lakers?

LeBron James tweaked the same ankle he has been having issues with, against the Timberwolves last night. He played limited minutes, 26 to be exact, and recorded 18 points along with 9 rebounds.

LeBron aggravating that same right ankle once again during play must be a cause for concern for the Lakers. When asked about his ankle, LeBron James said, “It’s been better. But it feels pretty good.”

The injuries sustained by LeBron seem to be mere ankle sprains, so these shouldn’t have any long term repercussions. However, going into his 18th season, the Lakers need to be cautious with how they manage LeBron’s minutes.

The 4x champion is currently listed as questionable for tonight game against the TrailBlazers. The Blazers are looking to find themselves in the win column as they are currently 1-1.

It would be wise for the Lakers to rest LeBron for tonight’s game, and let AD take on the offensive load for the night.
